Healthcare in turmoil
The healthcare sector is in a deplorable state. The sharp division between public and private hospitals has made matters worse. People who belong to lower income and middle class cannot afford to pay the hefty fee of private hospitals and have to rely on government hospitals. But many government hospitals are in a terrible condition.
Lack of electricity and sanitation issues have taken a toll on patients who are forced to go to government hospitals for their treatment. Doctors and paramedic staff talk with patients in a rude manner. It is unfortunate that patients have to suffer from this form of treatment at these hospitals. The authorities concerned should take the relevant steps to resolve these issues and provide suitable healthcare facilities to people.
