Rawalpindi reach U13 semi-finals

ISLAMABAD: Rawalpindi beat Islamabad by 65 runs to qualify for the semi-finals of the Young Inter-Regions Under-13 Cricket Championship following the last day’s matches at the KRL Ground in Rawalpindi on Tuesday.
Fielding lapses by Islamabad players helped Rawalpindi score 191-5 in 20 overs.Islamabad fielders dropped two catches in one over of Syed Momin Shah and also conceded nine extra runs from over throws.
In all, eight catches were dropped and 30 extras conceded to help Rawalpindi achieve a daunting total. Saad Masood (48) played well for the winners.Shamyl Hussain (67) fought a lone battle before Islamabad were restricted to 126-7.
Leg-break bowler Ibrahim Khan took four wickets for just 14 runs while off-spinner Mohsin Sardar had 2-12.Scores in brief: Rawalpindi 191-5 in 20 overs (Saad Masood 48, Aamir Hasan 29). Islamabad 126-7 in 20 overs (Shamyl Hussain 67, Asadullah Khan 25 not out; Ibrahim Khan 4-14, Mohsin Sardar 2-12).
Peshawar beat Abbottabad by 60 runs: Peshawar 116-8 in 20 overs (Zubair Ahmad 40; Shayan Ahmad 2-9, Jalal 2-16). Abbottabad 56 all out in 12.1 overs (Extras 14; Sajid Hussain 4-4, Abbas Ali 2-2).
