SHC seek comments on ex-UC nazim’s ‘illegal detention’
The Sindh High Court (SHC) issued notices on Tuesday to federal and provincial law officers, the provincial police chief, the Rangers director general and others on a petition against the illegal detention of former union council nazim, who was allegedly picked up by personnel of law enforcement agencies from Shah Faisal Colony.
Mohammad Abdul Rab submitted in his petition that his brother, Abdul Wasay, former union council nazim of Shah Faisal Colony, was picked up from his house on March 27. He said his brother was a social activist and had nothing to do with any criminal activities, but he had not yet been brought to court. The counsel for the petitioner expressed apprehension about the life of the detainee and his implication in false cases, and requested that he be not involved in false cases. A division bench headed by Justice Aftab Ahmed Gorar issued notices directing the respondents to file their comments on May 3.
