Making the grade
Many students in Mirpurkhas have resorted to cheating in their examinations. The practice has become prevalent in other cities of Sindh and threatens the integrity of our education system. More often than not, teachers tend to facilitate students in these unethical practices. In most cases, students whose parents are either teachers or have a strong affiliation with the educational department find it easier to cheat in their exams.
The situation has escalated to a point where the relevant authorities have also turned a blind eye to the problem. The efforts of deserving candidates who arduously prepare for their exams are being entirely ignored. Marks are no longer being offered to students on the basis of merit. Most students pay a hefty sum to education officials to secure high marks in their exams. Nepotism in educational department; the problem of buying grades; and the challenges posed by the cheating culture have pushed our society towards a state of ruin. These practices will not only spoil our present but will also darken the future of our country.
