Islamabad thrash Abbottabad in U-13 Cricket
ISLAMABAD: Shamyl Hussain (56 not out) powered Islamabad to easy nine wicket victory against Abbottabad in the Young Under-13 Inter-Regional Cricket Tournament at the KRL Ground Monday.
Following complete wash out on opening day Sunday, the tournament got under way with Islamabad carving out easy win. Abbottabad scored 122 for 4 in rain shortened 16 overs on a placid track with Islamabad reaching the target in 14.4 overs. Shamyl and Rana Hamza (33) put on 112 for opening wicket to give Islamabad easy win. Rawalpindi and Islamabad are to play Tuesday. The winner will move into the semifinals.
Scores: Abbottabad 122 for 4 in 16 overs (Shahyan Ahmad 39*, Dayan Qurban 1-10). Islamabad 123 for 1 in 14.4 overs (Shamyl Hussain 56*, Raja Hamza 33, Jalal 1-21).
In another match Rawalpindi beat Peshawar by 54 runs. Scores: Rawalpindi 148 in 19.2 overs (Saad Masood 24, Sadam 2-13, Saad Amhad 2-3) Peshawar 94 all out in 17.3 overs 9 (Abbas Khan 21, Husnain 3-22, Zunair Hussain 2-10).
