Rally held in support of army
PARACHINAR: The tribespeople held a rally in support of the Pakistan Army and against the Pakhtuns Tahaffuz Movement (PTM) in Kurram Agency.
They were carrying banners and placards inscribed with slogans in favour of the security forces and against Manzoor Pashteen, who is spearheading a campaign against the alleged victimisation and humiliation of the fellow Pakhtuns at various security checkposts in the tribal areas.
The participants of the rally gathered at the Parachinar Press Club and chanted slogans in support of the army and against the PTM. Tribal elders including Rauf Hussain, Saleem Khan and others were leading the rally.
The speakers said that the security forces had rendered great sacrifices and restored peace to the tribal areas.
They said the security forces were also carrying out development work in the tribal areas but some ‘vested interest’ and agents of the enemy had launched a malicious campaign against the army.
