Four children injured in grenade explosion From Our Correspondent MULTAN: Four children were seriously wounded in a hand grenade explosion in Javed Nagar near Nau Bahar Canal on Wednesday afternoon. City Police Chief Sultan Ahmed told journalists that the children found the hand grenade while taking bath in the canal. Later, the grenade exploded as they started playing with it considering it a toy. Five sheep grazing in the nearby field were also killed in the blast. Rescue officials, who rushed the children to Nishtar Hospital, said the injured were identified as Omer, Waqas, Hamza and Rabnawaz. Security officials also found five detonator fuses and said the Soviet-made hand grenade was manufactured in 1985. Senior police officials said the terrorists were fleeing the area and dumping their explosive material in the canal to avoid police action during operation and door-to-door search. A suicide vest was also recovered from the canal in the same locality on Jan 13, they added.
