Climate change is a reality. Pakistan is facing its adverse impacts that are more evident in the shape of frequent floods, severe heat waves, melting glaciers, erratic rain patterns and droughts. These factors have badly affected the economy of Pakistan, particularly the agriculture sector.
The government should take revolutionary measures to deal with climate change. For the last three years, Pakistan’s climate change policy has been in the doldrums. However, the prime minister has given a go-ahead to the Ministry of Environment to implement the first climate change policy of Pakistan. This initiative should be speeded up for the country’s best interests.
