Abbottabad LG by-polls: PTI, PML-N field candidates for district nazim, deputy slots

ABBOTTABAD: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PM-N) have fielded candidates for the slots of district nazim and naib nazim of Abbottabad District Council election scheduled for April 5.
The PTI nominated Ali Khan Jadoon for the slot of nazim and Sardar Waqar Nabi is contesting for the seat of naib nazim.
The PML-N has fielded Siddique Qureshi for the slot of nazim and Naheed Awan for naib nazim. The PTI claimed it had the support of 45 councillors in the 77-member district council while the PML-N with 32 seats is hoping to give tough time to its rivals. It may be mentioned that District Nazim Sardar Sher Bahadur and Naib Nazim Shaukat Tanoli were de-seated on the grounds of defection.
