Protest in Peshawar District Council against non-provision of fund
PESHAWAR: The District Council on Tuesday witnessed chaos as two members staged protest against the non-provision of development fund and other items.
Treasury member Noor Wali and the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) member Rahamdil Nawaz staged the protest over the non-provision of development fund, sports kits, wheel chairs and sewing machines to them.
During the protest, Noor Wali stood on the table and chanted slogans against the district nazim.
The session started at noon with Convener and naib nazim Syed Qasim Ali Shah in the chair. PTI members Iftikhar Khalil and Noor Wali exchanged harsh words soon after the start of the session.
District Nazim Muhammad Asim Khan announced release of salary on time, and provision of sports kits, sewing machines and development funds to all members on time. Opposition leader Saeed Muhammad Zahir presented a resolution for bounding the meat, poultry and milk shops to install glass on the front of their shops.
Meanwhile, the members also staged a rally against the killings of Kashmiris, Palestinians and Muslims in Myanmar.
The ANP member, Safdar Baghi, urged the council members to join him to protest the killings of Muslims in held Kashmir, Palestine and elsewhere in the world.
District Nazim along with the PTI and opposition members joined him in the protest and set the Israeli flag on fire. Speaking on the occasion, they urged the Muslim world to unite and foil the design of the enemies.
