KARACHI: West Indies lost back-to-back Twenty20 games against Pakistan here at the National Stadium immediately after landing in Karachi.
Jet-lagged and low on experience, the visitors showed no spine against the home team. But their big-hitting opener Chadwick Walton did try to put up some resistance. He hit a quickfire 40 in the second match on Monday night but failed to stop the rampaging Pakistanis from recording an 82-run win.
Walton hoped that things would be better for his team in the final game on Tuesday. “There’s always motivation for the fellows because we are playing for the West Indies. It’s better to lose a series 2-1 than to lose 3-0,” he told reporters.
The issue of security fears has been the main talking point, but Walton said he had so safety concerns. “I think I’m pretty much safe in Pakistan … I’m satisfied with the security,” he said. “The crowd in Karachi is very energetic, which is a good sight.”
