Pakistan Librarians Welfare Organisation (Punjab branch) President Sher Afzal Malik Wednesday said libraries must change according to changing market conditions.
During a workshop titled ‘Marketing Library Products and Services’ held at University of Health Sciences (UHS), Malik said libraries need to achieve an imaginative design of service and products, and develop communication methods and a feedback mechanism to improve service.
According to a press release, librarians of various public and private sector organizations from Quetta, Rahim Yar Khan, Bahawalpur, Multan, Lahore, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Sargodha and Rawalpindi attended the workshop. President, Pakistan Library Association (Balochistan), Abdul Baqi Jattak, who was the chief guest, said as demands were becoming increasingly complex, a strong commitment to marketing provided a means for the library to remain viable.
