KOHAT: Awami National Party provincial president Ameer Haider Hoti said on Sunday that his party was striving to get rights for the Pakhtuns.
Addressing a public gathering in Ustarzai area on the outskirts of Kohat, he said that the ANP wanted the ownership of the Pakhtuns over their own resources.
The former chief minister said that the ANP workers rendered great sacrifices for the restoration of peace. “The Pakhtuns should forge unity or else they would suffer annihilation,” he cautioned.
He said that those who were criticising the Pakhtuns should remember that the ANP undertook several mega uplift projects during its five year rule in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Coming down hard on the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)-led government, Haider Hoti said that the Imran Khan-led party failed to implement its so-called agenda of change. “The PTI government has been unable to deliver on its pledges. The people have not felt any change,” he maintained. He said that PTI Chairman Imran Khan claimed about fighting corruption, but he failed to prevent his party’s lawmakers from indulging in horse-trading in the recent Senate election. Haider Hoti alleged that the provincial exchequer was empty and bad governance had pushed the province to a financial crunch.
