ISLAMABAD: Pakistan, the finalists of the 2014 Youth Olympics, are placed in an easy group for the qualifiers to be played in Bangkok (Thailand) from April 25-29.
Pakistan were beaten 1-2 by Australia in the final of the hockey tournament in the inaugural Youth Olympics in 2014. Four years down the line Pakistan are playing the qualifying round.
They have been placed in Group B alongside Malaysia, Bangladesh, Singapore, Chinese Taipei and Cambodia. Pool A consists of India, Korea, Japan, Hong Kong China and hosts Thailand.
Oman, who recently played a draw against Pakistan, have pulled out of the competition.
