Three cops martyred in DI Khan blast
DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Three policemen were martyred and another injured when the convoy of District Police Officer (DPO) was attacked in the remote Kaluchi area of the district on Friday. The sources said District Police Officer Dr Zahidullah was on his way back after an operation against militants in Kulachi when his convoy was attacked. Three cops, part of the squadescorting the DPO’s vehicle, identified as Fakharullah (driver), Mulazim Hussain and Ghulam Abbas (constables) were martyred in the attack. However, the DPO remained unhurt in the attack.
One policeman was injured in the attack, who was shifted to a nearby hospital in critical condition. Earlier in the day, a wanted militant was killed in a clash with security forces in Kulachi. Sources claimed that Adnan alias Adu belonging to Dera city was wanted by the police in connection with a terror act. Acting on a tip-off, the security forces raided his place in Kot Zafar and killed him in an exchange of fire.
