LHC chief justice expresses concern over court security
Rawalpindi: Lahore High Court (LHC) Chief Justice Yawar Ali during his visit to the Judicial Complex, Rawalpindi, here on Thursday, expressed grave concern over the shooting incident in court premises on Wednesday in which two people were killed. He directed concerned authorities to make fool proof security arrangements for the judicial complex to avert any mishap in future.
Inspector General (IG) of Punjab Police Arif Nawaz, Registrar Lahore High Court Bahadar Khan, Regional Police Officer (RPO) Fakhar Visal, City Police Officer (CPO) Israr Abbasi, District Judiciary Director General Rao Abdul Jabbar, District and Sessions Judge, Rawalpindi Khalid Nawaz, District Bar Association (DBA) President Khurram Masood Kiani also accompanied the Lahore High Court chief justice.
While talking to ‘The News’ District and Sessions Judge, Rawalpindi Khalid Nawaz said that it was quite alarming that weapons were brought into the judicial complex despite presence of walkthrough gates, CCTV cameras heavy contingent of police officials. “We will
take strict action against responsible persons after investigating the matter,” he warned.
