Pakistan finish 4th Asian U-19 Beach Volleyball
KARACHI: Pakistan on Sunday finished fourth when they lost to Kazakhstan 0-2 in the match for the third place of the Asian Under-19 Beach Volleyball Championship at Nakhon Pathom, Thailand. "It's great in my opinion. They played at least semi-final on their beach debut," former Pakistan captain Naseer Ahmed said. "I hope next time Pakistan would do much better," the professional spiker said. Earlier Pakistan lost to Indonesia 0-2 in the semi-finals. Later Indonesia defeated Thailand 2-1 in the final to emerge as champions.. Earlier, Pakistan, featuring Zarnab Khan and Afaq Khan, on Saturday defeated Laos 2-0 and strong Oman 2-1 to make it to last four.Pakistan on Friday had beaten Cambodia and Qatar with an identical scores of 2-0. It was a great opportunity for Pakistan to qualify for Youth Olympics slated to be held in Argentina in the first week of October. As per rules three leading teams from Asia has to make it to the Youth Olympics and World Junior Championships.
