PML-N govt has pulled country out of darkness, says Shahbaz
LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said the sincere efforts of Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) government to end the energy crisis have borne fruit and completion of power projects has pulled the country out of darkness once and for all.
Talking to a delegation of the PML-N workers in London, he said by overcoming the energy crisis, Pakistan would become economically strong and it would help eradicate poverty, ignorance and unemployment. The nation would always remember this service and historical act of the PML-N, he added.
Shahbaz, while mentioning the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), said it was a great plan for development and prosperity of Pakistan. The project is truly a game-changer and it would not only be beneficial for Pakistan but also the whole region.
CPEC has opened doors on foreign investment in Pakistan and its projects would also help people from Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir, along with four provinces. He said the CPEC projects would change the destiny of the country and the nation as they were moving towards completion rapidly. The whole world is surprised over the rapid and transparent completion of these projects, he added. He said Chinese investment worth billions of rupees had created vast employment opportunities for the people of Pakistan. Enormous projects of energy, infrastructure and industrial cooperation have been incorporated in CPEC, which are being completed swiftly.
Shahbaz said China had invested $36 billion in energy projects which showed its confidence in the leadership and policies of the PML-N government. He hoped that CPEC would start a new era of economic and social development, and Pakistan would become a hub of commercial and economic activities. He said CPEC would change the mode of history and we would not allow any conspiracy to succeed against it. He said the adversaries of CPEC were actually enemies of Pakistan, while our friends are very happy with this great project.
The chief minister said due to solid economic policies of the PML-N, the country was moving on the path to development as the PML-N government had promoted the culture of transparency, merit, standard and timely completion of development projects in the country. The CM said that PML-N had written a new history by ensuring transparency.
Even the international institutes acknowledge the transparency in the development projects, he said adding that development strategy of the PML-N government was proving fruitful and completion of projects worth billions of rupees were giving relief to the people. He said the PML-N government was committed to making Punjab an ideal province in terms of provision of education and health facilities.
Meanwhile, the Punjab chief minister, in a lighter vein, said in a tweet that the foreign players participating in PSL-3 should eat delicious kebab.
The CM wrote that he would suggest the foreigners coming to Karachi not forget to eat kebab prepared by a famous restaurant. He said today the spirit of love for cricket had taken over fear. He extended good wishes for both the teams playing PSL-3 and thanked people of Karachi for showing hospitality to their guests. The CM said he was happy that National Stadium in Karachi was brightening up again after nine years and this is the moment of thanksgiving.
