Pension problems
March 25, 2018
During the last eight years, about 650 employees have got retirement from the Pakistan Machine Tool Factory (PMTF). However, all of them are still deprived of their arrears including pensions. The PMTF authorities should realise that a majority of these retired employees are senior citizens who require money on a regular basis.
Retired employees have asked the relevant authorities time after time to issue their pension, but to no avail. On March 15, 2018, some retired employees staged a peaceful protest in front of the PMTF office in Karachi, but their protest was met with violent repercussions. The higher authorities should intervene and ensure the full payment of arrears to PMTF retired employees.
