QUETTA: Security forces foiled a suicide attack in Kuch Mor area of Quetta, sources informed Geo News Thursday.
The timely action of the security forces led to the attacker being killed, sources said, adding that he was a wearing a suicide jacket. Bomb disposal squad successfully neutralised the explosives jacket.
It is pertinent to mention that on December 19, Quetta security forces had foiled a terror bid by defusing a 20 kg improvised explosive device. According to police, the IED was found by the law-enforcing personnel on a roadside in the city’s remote area of Kalli Tarkha. The 20 kg bomb was placed in an empty tin. The bomb disposal squad immediately defused the bomb. Police said an investigation has started into the case.
Online adds: Talking to media, DIG Abdul Razzaq Cheema said security threats were there in Quetta. It is our endeavour that proper security is provided at all the events. About suicide attacker, he said he wanted to attack security forces vehicle. The security forces fired at his legs, he added.
