Jirga planned over delimitation of constituencies
KHAR: Pakistan People's Party (PPP) leader Akhunzada Chattan on Monday announced to convene a jirga to discuss the fresh delimitation of constituencies in Bajaur Agency and present suggestions to the Election Commission in this regard.
Speaking at a press conference here, the PPP Khyber Pakhtunkhwa senior vice-president expressed reservations over the fresh delimitations. He said the fresh delimitation had raised concerns among the people and political parties.
He lamented that the fresh delimitations were carried out without taking the local people and political parties into confidence and without considering the ground realities. The PPP leader hoped that all the tribal elders, representatives and leaders of other political parties would attend the jirga and give suggestions to be forwarded to the ECP to address the reservations of the local people and political parties in Bajaur.
