TIMERGARA: The student of the year certificate was awarded to Sidra Hassan at the colorful annual day and prize distribution ceremony of the Air Foundation School System Timergara here.
Sidra Hassan, a first year student at Air Foundation School System, Timergara, topped the Board of Intermediate and Secondary School (BISE), Malakand, during the annual examination 2017.
Muhammad Hassan Khan, father of the brilliant student, was chief guest on the occasion.
Addressing the function, the chief guest advised students to prepare themselves for taking on future challenges. He said the responsibilities rested with the youth to safeguard and protect the motherland.
Medical Superintendent (MS) DHQ Hospital Timergara, Dr Anwar Zada, orthopaedic and spinal surgeon Dr Waqar Alam, ENT specialist Dr Zafar Ayaz and a large number of students and their parents were present on the occasion.
Students sung national songs, presented speeches and cultural show reflecting cultures of all the four provinces and received much applause from those present on the occasion.
Earlier, the school principal, Muhammad Khaliq presented the institute’s annual report. He said the school occupied unique position among all the leading educational institutions of the district within a short span.
The principal said a large number of students of the school joined different professional institutions and Pak army to serve the nation.
Speaking on the occasion, Malik Sultan Yousaf, Resident Director of the school system Timergara, said besides focusing on the achievements of academic excellence, the school management paid due attention to personality development of students by exposing them to co-curricular and extra-curricular activities.
