ISLAMABAD: President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan has been pleased to confer the ‘Pakistan Civil Awards’ on citizens of Pakistan as well as foreign nationals for showing excellence and courage in their respective fields, says a press release.
The investiture ceremony of these awards will take place on Pakistan Day, 23rd March, 2018. The awards will be conferred to 141 persons. Prominent among them are Dr Fidel Castro Ruz (late), Cuba — Nishan-i-Pakistan (Service to Pakistan), Ms Asma Jahangir (late), — Nishan-i-Imtiaz (Public Service), Mohammad Anwar Habib, Punjab – Hilal-i-Imtiaz (Engineering-electronics), Dr Anjum Tauqir, Sindh — Hilal-i-Imtiaz (Metallurgy), Kimihide Ando, Japan – Sitar-i-Pakistan (Service to Pakistan), Sadiq Khan, – Sitar-i-Pakistan (Service to Pakistan), Abdul Ghani (late), Sindh—Sitar-i-Shujaat (Gallantry), Prof. Dr Zabta Khan Shinwari, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa – Sitar-i-Imtiaz (Science-Biotechnology), Prof. Dr Bashir Ahmad, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa — President award for pride of performance (Science-Biotechnology), Afzal Khan, Brussels – Sitara-i—Quaid-i-Azam (Service to Pakistan), Dr AJA Lakkumar Fernando, Sri Lank – Sitara-i-Khidmat (Service to Pakistan), Haji Abu Bakar (late), Sindh – Tamgha-i-Shujaat (Gallantry), Zaheer Ahmed Malik, Punjab – Tamgah-i- Imtiaz (Science-Physics), Pride of Performance award in journalism have been announced for Hanif Khalid, Tahir Khalil, Nawaz Raza, and Ameen Hafeez.
