A day after a man threw ink at Khawaja Asif, another man threw shoe at former president Nawaz Sharif when visited a religious gathering in Lahore. Frustrated and angry people have started a shameful practice of throwing shoes and ink at politicians. What was even more disappointing to witness was the reaction of the people. Hundreds of people have written a comment on the now-viral video in which the man can be seen hurling his shoe at the former PM and have taken the entire incident in a light manner.
What happened at the gathering in Lahore was disrespectful. Nobody should promote such actions. We need to create a society where people are respected. Civilised people should not be indulged in such demeaning activities. We should sow the seeds of tolerance and should present our views in a responsible manner.

The act of throwing a shoe at someone is incredibly offensive and should be condemned. People should realise that throwing shoe at someone they dislike is an ugly form of protest. Such incidents show that our society lacks tolerance.
We need to take collective steps to put an end to this indecent behaviour. It is hoped that saner elements in politics will take lead and encourage political workers to not indulge in such dirty tactics.
