BAHAWALPUR: Fourteen Victim Supporting Officers (VSOs) have been posted in different police stations of Bahawalpur (police range) in the first phase to facilitate victims in a better way and to improve image of police.
The concept of VSO has been introduced in Bahawalpur police.
RPO (Bahawalpur) Ehsan Sadiq talking to The News in his office said all young and energetic ASIs from the Bahawalpur police range were invited to take this challenging job and 14 of them opted the task. He said these ASIs would serve the masses with smiling face and would promote the better image of police. He said the ASIs would resolve issues of general public relating to police and criminals.
He said paramount task of the force would be to receive victims with respect and listen their problems patiently.
The RPO said in the case of the complaint of the victim the VSO would visit the area and consult the reconciliatory body to address the grievances of victims and otherwise the case would be registered against culprits involving the SHO of the relevant police station.
The RPO expressed his plan of deploying VSOs in all 73 police stations of Bahawalpur range soon.
DPO Rahim Yar Khan Sohail Zafar Chattha has posted VSO in two police stations in the district.
