The new chairman of Senate has come as a big relief to those of us who felt that the selection of the Senate chairman would end up in a lot of money exchanging hands. Kudos to Nawaz Sharif for accepting the opposition’s nominee, Raza Rabbani, as the Senate chairman.
The PPP has finally recognised the services of Raza Rabbani who has remained a steadfast PPP worker. Had Rabbani been made prime minister instead of Yusuf Raza Gilani, he would have performed far better. Asif Zardari’s error in judgement caused the PPP to lose badly in the 2013 elections.
