KARACHI: Three teenagers were arrested from Gul-e-Raana Society on Monday for attempting to gang rape an eight-year-old girl from their neighbourhood.
According to police, the girl’s father lodged a complaint at Soldier Bazaar police station stating that when he returned from work on Sunday night, his daughter told him that she had been playing in the street earlier in the evening when Ebad, son of Raees, Shehariyar, son of Naveed, and Kashif, son of Mehboob, kidnapped her and took her to an empty house in the neighbourhood.
The minor girl’s father further said that the boys tried to remove her clothes but she began screaming, which alerted the neighbours and they came to her rescue. Tariq Nawaz, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Ferozeabad, who currently holds the additional charge of SP Jamshed Quarters Division, told The News that following the father’s complaint, a police team rushed to Gul-e-Raana Society and arrested the three suspects.
