LAHORE: Grand sports festival in Sheikhupura concluded the other day with bang. The great passion of young performers was treat to watch during the memorable gathering.
Former Test pacer Muhammad Asif, international female kabaddi player and powerlifter Neelum Riaz, Saniha Ghafoor, Olympians Naveed Alam, Anjum Saeed, Guinness World Record Holder Muhammad Munir, Rustam-e-Pakistan Usman Majeed, participated in grand sports festival. PHF Women Wing official Perveen Sikandar Gill, Dr Ehsan Zafar, Awais Rana, Shahid Nizami, Ch Rais ur Rehman, Zakir Amanat, Ms Sana Arshad, Syed Haider Nizami, Qaiser Ali were also present in the festival.
Several top heroes were awarded sports awards for their remarkable services in the field of sports. Young talented players were also encouraged during the festival besides live concert, magic show and dance contest etc.
Organizing committee head Hafiz Usman said: “We organised this festival with the collaboration of Sports Board Punjab to highlight the talent that Sheikhupura possessed in various fields. It’s fact that our city has never hosted such a grand sports and cultural festival in its history”.
Hafiz Usman told that Sheikhupura had plenty of talent in every field and several international sports heroes belonged to this part of Punjab province. “We are planning to organize similar festivals in future as well,” he added.
