ISLAMABAD: After playing exceptionally well in the Qatar Junior Open Squash Championship, Pakistan junior players also grabbed all age category titles in the Doha Junior Squash Championship in Doha (Qatar).
They carried on the winning streak and clinched all the titles of the championship in all age categories including Under-13, Under-15, Under-17, and Under-19.
Muhammad Ammad of Pakistan outclassed his fellow countryman Usman Nadeem 11-7, 6-11, 11-4, 11-6 in the Under-13 category final.In the Under-15 category, another Pakistani star player Junaid Khan thrashed Karam Jamal of Jordan 11-6, 11-6, 5-11, 6-11, 11-9 to win the title in style.
Pakistan’s Farhan Hashmi thumped his teammate Uzair Shaukat 11-8, 8-11, 11-6, 11-6 to win the Under-17 title. Likewise, the Under-19 title was also won by Pakistani player Abbas Zeb who vanquished his compatriot Uzair Rasheed 11-6, 14-12, 6-11, 11-9 in an exciting match which lasted for 50 minutes.
The prize distribution ceremony of the Qatar and Doha Junior Squash Championships was held at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex in Doha, where Saad Al Mohannadi awarded trophies to the winners. Players from Pakistan, India, Qatar, Egypt, Malaysia, Jordan, Ireland, United States and Iran participated in the championship.
