Abid to face Muzammil in tennis final
ISLAMABAD: Mohammad Abid and Muzammil Murtaza will compete for the men’s singles title in the First Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) Open Tennis Championship here at the PTF Complex today (Friday).
Top seed Abid overpowered a resilient Heera Ashiq in three sets 4-6, 6-4, 7-5 to make it to the decider. Both players played quality tennis and stretched each other to the limits in one of the entertaining matches of the day.
In the second semi-final, Muzammil Murtaza breezed past Yousaf Khalil 6-2, 6-1.Mahin Aftab stunned second seed Sarah Mahboob in the entertaining women’s quarter-final that was decided in three sets 6-3, 3-6, 7-6(4).
