WSSM improves sanitation in Mardan: minister

MARDAN: Provincial Minister for Education and Energy Mohammad Atif Khan said on Thursday that the Water and Sanitation Services Mardan (WSSM) brought a change in Mardan City.

He was addressing a function as a chief guest arranged in connection of the sanitation fleet induction, office automation and webpage inauguration ceremony.

Commissioner Zakir Hussain Afridi, Tehsil Nazim Ayub Khan, Naib Nazim Mushtaq Seemab, Chairman WSSM Board Mohammad Fayaq Khan, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Nasir Ghafoor Khan and other officials were also present.

Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Nasir Ghafoor Khan, briefed the participants about the company and its functions. Nasir said that the WSSM started working 14 months ago.

He added that despite of little resources and vehicles, the company cleaned more than 95 meters drain line in Mardan City.

The officer added that during the last seven months, more than 26,000 tons garbage was removed from the city. He added that they introduced “clean and green concept”.

Answering a question about district Nazim Himaytullah Mayar’s letter to National Accountability Bureau (NAB) about his and other PTI lawmakers’ alleged corruption, he said Himaytullah Mayar would have to provide proofs about his claims. He added that he was also sending damages suit to Himayatullah Mayar.
