Nothing found about Nawaz in 6 months: Maryam
By News desk
FAISALABAD: PML-N leader Maryam Nawaz said despite ousting of Nawaz Sharif from the prime minister’s office and as the party president, his popularity among the masses was on the rise.
Maryam said she reached Faisalabad late, as she along with her father had attended the accountability court proceedings earlier in the day, where Wajid Zia - the JIT head - was also scheduled to appear who had awarded contract to one of his close relative for 50,000 pounds.
She mocked the JIT ‘jewels’ (members) and said if even they failed to find anything then how come the NAB officials would have any success against Nawaz. Addressing a mammoth a PML-N social media convention in Iqbal Park [Dhobi Ghat] Thursday afternoon, she said Nawaz Sharif ruled the hearts of the people and could not be extracted from there. Maryam said no conspiracy could defeat the one who commanded public support and the politicians trying to ditch Nawaz would ruin their political career, as the voters would reject them in the upcoming general elections.
She said the conspiracies against Nawaz would fail, adding that the ousted prime minister had served the people selflessly and not a single charge of corruption was established against him.
Maryam said the people’s courts in Mansehra, Lodhran and Faisalabad had exonerated Nawaz and pledged to continue supporting him and inflict a crushing defeat to the contestants of other parties in general elections.
On this, thousands of charged party supporters attending the convention raised the slogans of “Nawaz Sharif Zindabad” [Long Live Nawaz Sharif].
Maryam said despite the passage of six months, neither anything could be proved nor even a corruption of six rupees established against the former premier.
About the expiry of trial deadline, she questioned what could be established against Nawaz in the next two months, if nothing had been achieved during the last 18 months and despite five trials.
She said after winning all the by-elections, including in Lodhran and Sargodha, without the election symbol of lion, the anti-Nawaz elements had been bewildered and were hatching conspiracies against Nawaz and his party.
“Sentence is given awarded one after another, even after they dismissed him from the prime minister’s office,” said Maryam.
On the occasion, the local party leaders presented a gold necklace to Maryam.
