Rainstorm disturbs power supply in Peshawar
PESHAWAR: A light rain accompanied by windstorm that hit the provincial capital Thursday evening, causing power disruption.
Though it rained for a short time, the windstorm disturbed the power supply. The electricity remained cut off in many localities of the provincial capital.
The power remained suspended for almost eight to 10 hours daily in Peshawar and other parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa while in rural areas the duration is high, belying the government claims of ending load-shedding.
Even in urban areas like Peshawar cantonment, city, Gulberg, etc, power load-shedding continues for hours. It also belies the claims that load-shedding is only being carried out in areas
where power theft is reported as such areas are not inaccessible or remote ones where theft can’t be checked.
