TIMERGARA: Member Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly (MPA) from PK-96 (now PK-16), Lower Dir, Aizazul Mulk Ifkari, on Tuesday vowed to move court against changes to his constituency by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).
Talking to local journalists here, the JI lawmaker said the ECP under new delimitation had included some important union councils from his constituency in another constituency. “This has been done under a conspiracy as the JI enjoyed full support of voters in the shifted union councils,” Aizazul Mulk alleged.
The lawmaker added that he was unable to understand how the Election Commission officials, who were sitting in Islamabad, had made the decisions about geographical limits of Dir about which they had no knowledge.
Aizazul Mulk said he would move an adjournment motion in the KP Assembly and turn to the court against new delimitation of constituencies.
However, people in Lower Dir district had mixed feelings about new delimitations. Some were happy with new delimitation of constituencies while others expressed reservations on the basis of their political affiliations.
