PESHAWAR: The National Accountability Bureau, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, on Friday authorised inquiry against officers of Fata Development Authority (FDA) and others about corruption and corrupt practices and misuse of authority.
A handout said that the decision was taken at the Regional Board Meeting (RBM) of the National Accountability Bureau Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Farmanullah Khan, Director General, NAB (KP), presided over the meeting.
It is alleged that the subject violated the rules in awarding contract for construction of Raghagan Dam in Bajaur Agency.
Furthermore, the cost of the project was increased in complete violation of laws, which resulted in escalation of the project value to the tune of Rs.224 million.
Another inquiry was authorised against officers of Police Department Bannu and others regarding corruption and corrupt practices. It is alleged that the accused in gross violation of laws embezzled the funds under the garb of provision of food.
Another inquiry was also authorised against M/s Hydro Link and other regarding corruption & corrupt practices.
The subjects were involved in embezzlement of funds allocated for installation of generators in mini Hydro Power project in Battagram.
