Scattered rain forecast

LAHORE: Partly cloudy weather and scattered rain was observed in the city on Friday while Met Office predicted similar weather conditions for the next 24 hours.

Met officials said a westerly wave was affecting western and upper parts of the country and was likely to persist till Saturday. They said rain-thunderstorm, snowfall over the hills, with gusty winds was expected at scattered places in upper Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Islamabad, upper Punja, including Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sargodha, Faisalabad divisions; FATA, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, and at isolated places in Kohat, Bannu, Zhob, Quetta, Kalat and Sibbi divisions.

On Friday rain-thunderstorm, snowfall over the hills, with gusty winds occurred at scattered places in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, FATA, Islamabad, upper Punjab, Quetta, Zhob, Kalat and Sibbi divisions, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, and at isolated places in Multan and DG.Khan divisions.

Rainfall was recorded at a number cities, including Malamjabba (52mm), Saidu Sharif (40mm), Lower Dir (38mm), Balakot (32mm), Parachinar (28mm), Dir (27mm), Kakul (26mm), Kalam (24mm), Pattan (23mm), Mirkhani (19mm), Chitral (14mm), D I Khan and Risalpur (10mm), Cherat (9mm), Drosh (7mm), Kohat (6mm), Bannu and Peshawar (4mm), Murree (26mm), Sargodha 21, Islamabad Zero Point (mm21), Golra (17mm), Bokra (3mm), Chaklala 19, Shamsabad (17mm), Chakwal (15mm), Joharabad (13mm), Noorpurthal (10mm), Bhakkar (9mm), Layyah and Kamra (8 mm).
