Rawalpindi: All our efforts are underway to complete multi-million Shahbaz Sharif Park on Rawal Road to ensure its inauguration at the upcoming visit of Punjab chief minister Shahbaz Sharif in March.
Leader of Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) Hanif Abbasi confirmed that all the ongoing development projects including Shahbaz Sharif Park would be completed ahead of time. According to the official documents, the Punjab government has provided Rs87.93 million for construction of the Shahbaz Sharif Park that is being constructed at the area measuring 90 kanals.
Under the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the Punjab government and the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), no building is being constructed in the park, which is in close proximity to the runway of the Benazir Bhutto International Airport.
It is pertinent to mention here that the development projects worth millions of rupees are currently underway in Rawalpindi and these are expected to be completed before the next general elections.
The documents showed that the revised layout plan of the park now also has floodlights, garden lights and horticulture work including plantation and gadgets in line with the design of Greater Iqbal Park of Lahore.
