Will reply to those who ridicule state institutions: Imran

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Tuesday said that Punjab has given a decision in the favour of change, adding that he would visit the province in the coming days and with the support of people would answer those who ridicule the state institutions.

Just ahead of his series of public meetings in various districts of Punjab, Imran Khan has managed to dent the ruling PML-N by making part of his party its sitting MNA from Gujranwala.

The Member of National Assembly, Mian Tariq Mehmood, from Gujranwla and ex-PML-N MPA Mian Mazhar have parted ways with the PML-N and have announced to join the PTI. Tariq Mehmood and Mian Mazhar called on Imran Khan at the Chairman’s Secretariat, Islamabad, and announced to join the PTI along with their companions. Senior leaders of the PTI, including Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Jahangir Tareen, Asad Umer, Abdul Aleem Khan and Shehryar Afridi, were also present on this occasion.

They announced to accord a historic welcome to the PTI chairman in Gujranwala on March 16. Speaking on the occasion, Mian Tariq Mehmood expressed full confidence in PTI leadership and ideology.

“The nation wants to get rid of the gang of looters and plunderers, as the future belongs to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and Imran Khan. Imran Khan has guarded the future of coming generations by bringing Sharif's to accountability and coming elections will put an end to the group of bandits in Gujranwala as well,” he said.

Meanwhile father of Sardar Azhar Tariq Khan, PTI leader and central Secretary Finance, passed away here on Monday after protracted illness. He was buried in H-8 graveyard. PTI leaders MNA Asad Umer, MNA Dr Arif Alvi, MNA Ghulam Sarwar Khan, Saifullah Niazi, Ali Nawaz Awan and others attended the funeral prayer. PTI Chairman Imran Khan offered Fatiha at his home.

PTI leaders Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Jahangir Tareen, Dr Shireen Mazari, Chief Minister KP Parvaiz Khattak, General (R) Haroon Pasha, Gen (R) Afzal Janjua, Gen Sabir, Iftikhar Rao and others condoled the death of Azhar Tariq’s father. Quran Khawani for the departed soul will be held on Wednesday at F-11 Islamabad.
