The introduction of distance learning programmes and online courses has got much importance in today’s era of online communication. In Pakistan, various universities are offering courses through distance learning, which is being considered the cheapest and easiest source of learning and getting a degree. Although it is a pity that many remote areas of the country are deprived of proper education institutions, the arrival of the internet in these areas has increased the popularity of online courses among residents.
However, there are a few problems that must be dealt with in an effective manner to ensure that there are no hurdles for residents when they set out to get a quality education. There are still so many areas where the internet connectivity is poor. As a result, students who have enrolled themselves in online classes are unable to listen to lectures. Universities in collaboration with the relevant authorities must take steps to counter the problems of people living in backward areas so that more people may get benefit from different online courses.
