PESHAWAR: Corps Commander Lt Gen Nasir Ahmad Butt inaugurated the Mir Ali Sweet Home orphanage in North Waziristan and spent a busy day with the orphaned children.
A press release by the political administration of North Waziristan said the Corps Commander Peshawar as the chief guest inaugurated the orphanage and announced increasing its capacity to 250 children from the existing intake of 150. He also took responsibility of looking after the needs of the orphaned children.
The Corps Commander was accompanied by Zamurrad Khan, the head of the Pakistan Sweet Homes in Islamabad and civil and military officials.
The press release said the work on building the Mir Ali Sweet Home was started in August 2017 and completed in November 2017.
It said the project was completed as a result of the joint efforts of the political administration of North Waziristan, Pakistan Army’s 7th Division and Pakistan Sweet Homes Islamabad’s head Zamurrad Khan. Initially, the orphanage had capacity for 100 children, but later it was raised to 150.
The nicely built Mir Ali Sweet Home is well-equipped and staffed. It has one mother head and four teachers, 10 mother maids and seven male staffers.
It has a computer room, a small football ground, a courtyard, park, living and playing rooms, a haircutting salon, canteen and other facilities.
