Islamabad: The Met Office forecast thundershowers in the federal capital and adjoining areas today (Saturday) easing the high incidences of throat and chest infections, flu and fever.
According to Imran Ahmad Siddiqui of the Pakistan Meteorological Department, rain coupled with thunderstorm and gusty winds is to fall in Islamabad and Rawalpindi during the next 24 hours.
Also, the precipitation is expected scattered places in northeast Balochistan's areas including Quetta, Zhob and Kalat divisions, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, upper Punjab's Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Sargodha, Lahore and Faisalabad divisions, Islamabad, FATA, Azad Jammu and Kashmir and at isolated places in Sahiwal, Multan, Bahawalpur and DG Khan divisions, and Gilgit-Baltistan during the period.
Also, snow will fall over the hills. The weatherman said the rain would be caused by a westerly wave affecting the western and upper parts of the country. He said the westerly wave was likely to persist for the next few days. The doctors welcomed the coming rain saying it will end health problems caused by the dry, cold spell.
