He also wanted to talk on a point of order however the convener of the council didn’t allow him.
Later, the opposition members become angry and started chanting slogans against the District Nazim Himayatullah Mayar. The opposition members also tore the copies of agenda of the session.
However, the convener postponed the session for five minute. Later when the session started, the opposition leader continued with their protest.
However, the convener tried to resolve the dispute but the opposition members were not ready to listen to him.
District Nazim Himayatullah Mayar left the district council without delivering his speech.
The Awami National Party (ANP) and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) members also came out of the district council hall.
The opposition members including Umar Farooq Kakakhel, Sher Bahadur and Adil Nawaz flayed the district nazim and said that district nazim instead of solving the issues pending in the council had started bullying and thrashing heads of the institutions.
The opposition members visited the district nazim’s office and removed the portrait of Bacha Khan and Abdul Wali Khan from it. It angered the ANP members who stormed the office of the tehsil nazim Mardan and broke the furniture.
District Police Officer (DPO) Mian Saeed Ahmed along with other police official and cops reached the district nazim’s office to bring the situation under control.
