Valuables, vehicles taken away

LAHORE: Robbers deprived citizens of their valuables and vehicles worth millions of rupees here on Tuesday. They looted valuables worth Rs 850,000 from the house of one Irshad in Sundar, valuables worth Rs 4 lakh from the family of one Hafeez in Nawab Town, valuables worth Rs 225,000 from the family of one Mehfooz in Naseerabad and Rs 65,000 and a cellphone from one Sajjad in Kahna. Bikes were taken away in areas of Shahdara and Chung police. At least eight bikes were stolen from the areas of Ravi Road, Data Darbar, South Cantt, Baghbanpura, Subzazar, Sattukatla, Shadman and Islampura.

SUICIDE: A 23-year-old youth committed suicide by hanging himself from a rope in Iqbal Town area. The deceased was identified as Shahbaz of Najaf Colony Iqbal Town. It was reported that Shahbaz was dejected over unknown domestic issues. On the day of incident, he locked himself in a room and hanged himself.

ASSAULTED: A six-year-old child was assaulted by a wanderer in the Manga Mundi police limits. Police have yet to arrest the man who fled the scene. A case has been registered against the accused identified as Abu Bakar on the complaint of the victim’s father Yaqoob.
