KARACHI: Wei Chen Chang, Lui Chen-Hsui, Wen-Yi Chou from Chinese Taipei and Huzafia Abdul Rehman of Pakistan qualified for the main draw of Tajammul Abbas ITF Pakistan World Junior Ranking Tennis Championships at Dilawar Abbas PTF Tennis Complex, Islamabad, on Saturday.
The main draw will start from Monday (today). Players from India, Hong Kong, Turkey, and Malaysia have arrived for the event.Wei Chen Chang (TPE) was in fine touch and whitewashed his opponent Sameer Ahmed of (Pakistan) in straight set 6-0, 6-0.
In the second qualification match, Wen-Yi Chou (TPE) also displayed quality tennis and won his encounter against Ahmar Saeed of Pakistan without conceding a single game. Lui Chen-Hsui (TPE) struggled hard to win his encounter against Subhan Bin Salik of Pakistan in a well-contested match 6-3, 6-4. Huzafia Abdul Rehman being the top seed of the qualifying event also moved to the main draw of boys singles event. It is to be noted that as many as 34 foreign players, including 15 Indians, withdrew from the event.
