Sindh minister appeals CJP to allow Sharjeel Memon’s return to hospital
KARACHI: Sindh Information Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah has appealed to Chief Justice of Pakistan Saqib Nisar to allow shifting of Sharjeel Inam Memon from prison to hospital on humanitarian grounds.
In a statement issued here on Saturday evening, the Sindh information minister said a medical board has been constituted to examine the health of Sharjeel Memon on the orders of the accountability court hearing the case against the former provincial minister.
He said the same medical board after a thorough medical examination of Sharjeel Memon had recommended a surgical operation of the former provincial minister on immediate basis. He said the medical board had recommended that an operation of Sharjeel Memon had become inevitable to save him from becoming physically disabled on a permanent basis.
The Sindh information minister said the medical board had also recommended to both Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre and South City Hospital in Karachi to make arrangements on immediate basis to operate Sharjeel Memon.
He appealed to the chief justice that the apex court should review its decision of sending back Sharjeel Memon to jail and allow his shifting back to hospital on humanitarian grounds in order to save him from permanent physical disability.
