RAWALPINDI: A five-day campaign in Rawalpindi district to administer anti-polio drops to over 797,683 children will start here from March 16.
District Coordination Officer (DCO) Rawalpindi directed the authorities concerned to provide security to anti-polio workers.He said any negligence on part of the vaccination teams will not be tolerated at any cost and strict action will be taken against the concerned officials.
He said the plan formulated in this regard by the health department should be implemented in letter and spirit to meet the target.He said strict monitoring of the campaign should be conducted and work of all mobile teams should be properly checked.
The DCO directed the health officers to ensure their presence in the fielad so that the required results for making the district polio-free could be achieved.He urged the parents to play their role for elimination of the crippling disease.
During the campaign, 1,696 teams would go door-to-door and administer anti-polio drops to children of under five years. The vaccination teams would also be deployed at 111 transit points. Officials concerned have been directed to make all-out efforts so that the campaign could be proved successful.
