Lady doctor moves court against ‘harassment’
LAHORE: A lady doctor of Qila Gujjar Singh Hospital on Friday filed a contempt petition in Punjab Service Tribunal seeking contempt proceedings against Punjab Secretary Health for transferring and posting her at three different places within the period of three months with alleged intention of harassment and blackmailing.
As per details, Dr Momina Samina Asif, a consultant Gynaecologist-BS-18, who had been serving in health department for last 10 years filed contempt petition in the tribunal. She contended that on November 15, 2017, Punjab Service Tribunal had maintained status quo on transfer order from government hospital, Police Line Qila Gujjar Singh to Sadiqabad’s Tehsil Headquarters Hospital. But she claimed that she had been restrained even from attending the office and her salary had been stopped. She said this is violation of court orders, adding that the court had maintained status quo on her last time transfer orders but the orders had been ignored.
The appellant said she was treated discriminately and in a prejudicial manner she was transferred time and again by not completing required period rather transferred to different places with sole intention to harass and blackmail her. She said that on July 7, 2017, she was transferred from Samanabad to Khushab at Tehsil Headquarters Hospital and on September 20, 2017, she was transferred from Khushab to Lahore and on November 1, 2017 she was transferred to THQ Hospital, Sadiqabad, Rahimyar Khan.
She asked the court to set aside her transfer orders by declaring the same illegal and unlawful and unwarranted and be stayed at the earlier post where she was working at Sheikh Zayed Hospital. The tribunal would resume hearing on February 21.
