TIMERGARA: The officials of traffic on Wednesday visited various schools and delivered lectures to students on traffic rules.
On special directives of the Lower Dir District Police Officer Nowsher Khan, the officials visited Wisdom House School Timergara, Bilal English Education Academy and Global Education Academy, Timergara.
They informed the students about traffic rules, traffic signals, zebra-crossing. The officials directed the students to cross the road in rush hours carefully. They stressed upon students to wear helmet while riding motorcycles.
The traffic sergeants said that majority of schools’ students were being hit by motorists because neither the drivers nor the students follow traffic rules. They also asked the students to carefully ride and travel in school bus.
DPO Nowsher Khan told local journalists that the Lower Dir police had planned an awareness campaign in schools for decreasing road accidents and taking preventive measures. He said the traffic police officers would visit schools frequently and would deliver lectures on traffic rules and regulations.
