PESHWAR: The activists of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) on Tuesday celebrated the party’s winning of National Assembly constituency NA-154 in Lodhran in South Punjab.
Holding party flags, the jubilant PML-N workers started the rally from Saddar area and gathered at the Peshawar Press Club. They were chanting slogans in favour of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif. They also distributed sweets.
The speakers said the victory of an ordinary party candidate with a huge margin over 27,000 against the son of a business tycoon Jehangir Tareen in his native Lodhran showed that the popularity of the deposed primer Nawaz Sharif was increasing day by day.
They said that the result of the by-poll was an indication that the PML-N was getting stronger day by day and would win the upcoming general election and form the next government.
The speakers said the people of NA-154 through their ballot given a clear message that they would not let the sanctity of votes to be violated. They said that Nawaz Sharif would restore the sanctity of vote.
