HYDERABAD: Ten persons including nine women lost their lives while three others received injuries in a head on collision between a Suzuki Pickup and a dumper on Hyderabad-Tando Muhammad Khan Road near Village Noonari on Monday morning.
According to SSP Hyderabad, the deceased and injured were salesgirls and a salesmen of a company who were going to Tando Muhammad Khan ina Suzuki pickup for marketing of the company’s products. When the Suzuki Pickup reached near Village Noonari in the jurisdiction of Husri Police Station, a speedy dumper coming from opposite direction collided with it, as a result of which all passengers of the pickup received serious injuries.
Soon after the accident, the police and rescue workers rushed the spot and started rescue operation. The police though seized the dumper but failed to arrest the driver who managed to escape from the spot.
The salesman Zubair and nine others identified as Sajida, Hina, Rehana, Shabana, Safia, Shirimati Aneeta, Yasmeen, Fareeda and Nasreen breathed their last before they could get any first aid. The deceased persons were the residents of Latifabad, Hyderabad City and Kotri. Three others namely Saira d/o Muhammad Idrees Ansari, Sadaf and Nasreen who received injuries were shifted to Liaquat University Hospital. The bodies were handed over to their relatives after completion of medico-legal formalities while treatment is being provided to injured persons.
